Developed by Tango Gameworks, Ghostwire: Tokyo is a first-person action shooter. The gameplay follows Akito Izuki, a 22-year-old student, who finds himself on the brink of death when a supernatural occurrence happens. Now he must protect Tokyo from a mysterious threat. In order to do this, he must collect Yokai, a powerful spectral entity, and cleanse shrines to open more areas on the map.

In Ghostwire: Tokyo, players can use different types of magic, such as elemental spells, to defeat their enemies. In addition to elemental attacks, players can also utilize a variety of hand gesture combinations to perform magical maneuvers. These can include using a paper doll known as a Katsuhiro to absorb souls or sending them on their way to safety. These abilities will be upgraded through a series of skill trees, which will further increase the number of items that can be carried.
The combat is smooth and slick, and the game offers a wide array of options for players. Ghostwire: Tokyo gameplay is like a hybrid between Bioshock and a good Japanese interpretation of the Infamous series.
The city of Tokyo is infected by poltergeists and ghosts. Several supernatural monsters roam the streets, and Akito must use his skills to combat them. As he gains experience, he can upgrade his weapons and magic abilities to help him fight off the apparitions. The game’s pacing is balanced between fast-paced combat and quiet exploration. Unlike most action games, however, Ghostwire is a single-player experience. In this regard, the title has the potential to be a great game for fans of the genre.
Ghostwire: Tokyo has a lot of charm and potential, but it does have some flaws. It may have been a bit confusing at first, as it is not a story-based game. Its art direction and sound design are mediocre. It also does not provide enough context, which could lead to a false impression. Although its release date was recently confirmed as March 25, 2022, it was delayed for technical issues. Nevertheless, it is an exciting first-person action-adventure game that will require a strong PC rig in order to play comfortably.
The game uses Unreal Engine 4 to create its visuals. During gameplay, cutscenes can lag behind the audio, which may cause problems. On the other hand, the graphics are very good on medium settings. This is a big improvement over the previous Ghostwire releases, which were made for the PlayStation 3. Its environment looks like neon-injected Bioshock, and there are elements of both games in the game.
Ghostwire: Tokyo features three skill trees. The Equipment tree increases the number of items that can be carried, the Ethernal Weaving tree allows for a more magical experience, and the Abilities tree introduces new mechanics. The combat in the game has a Doom-like balletic quality to it. The action in Ghostwire: Tokyo is fast-paced and requires attention, and it is the kind of game that will keep players on the edge of their seats.
